Overview
There are TWO parts to this assessment
Due dates: Friday 3rd November (Part 1) and Fri 15th December (Part 2)
Submission method: all parts should be uploaded to Turnitin on My Dundee

Task Brief
Write a report on a biomedical device, tool or process that interests you. The structure of this report will be up to you to decide. However, use the following as a guide.
You need to include sections covering:
A description of the device, tool or process with an image
An overall evaluation of the device
In your report you should also include sections covering at least FOUR of the following:
The problem the device, tool or process aims to solve
The treatments or approaches that were used before
Details about the inventors and the initial testing process
Problems with the initial design
Examples of updates and improvements that have been made
Likely future improvements
The writing task will be split into TWO separate submissions with deadlines shown below.
The first submission is worth 30% and you will get feedback on it. The final submission is worth 70% of your writing score. Your final submission needs to be 1200 words (+/- 10%).
Both submissions should be on the same topic. You will receive feedback after the first submission to help you make improvements before your final submission.
All submissions will be through Turnitin on My Dundee.

Part 1 – First Submission: Outline and Proposed Resources
Due date: Friday 3rd November at 12pm midday Beijing time.
You will first submit an outline of your report including:
Identification of the biomedical device, tool or process you have selected
The section headings you plan to use in the order you plan to include them
A minimum of TWO different sources for each section apart from the conclusion
othese sources should be included using either an IEEE or Harvard referencing style
oyou can repeat sources in multiple sections
A CRAAP analysis of one of the sources you have selected
A first draft of up to 200 words for ONE of the sections
oyou can choose any section
oensure you properly cite your sources within your writing
Submit this document to Turnitin using the following file name format:
oClass#_Name
oFor example: Class7_JohnSmith

Part 2 – Final Submission: Completed Report
Due date: Friday 15 December at 17:00 Beijing time.
You will submit your completed report including a full reference list.
Ensure information is properly cited throughout the text including figures and tables.
Use a consistent citation style throughout your report.
Your final submission needs to be 1200 words (+/- 10%) not including references.
