Individual Assessment
One 3,000 word case study. Answers will be assessed for both their theoretical contribution and case evidence. Please focus on 2-3 relevant theories applied to supporting case examples/evidence for each part of the question. Please make sure you answer all parts of the question drawing on both case evidence from your chosen company and relevant theory.
Do not select one of the case organisations we study in the seminars during the module (Harley Davidson and Unilever).
Please answer ALL of the following:
For an organisation of your choice, examine an episode of strategic change. Your analysis should include the following:
Explain why the strategic change was initiated.
Analyse the changes made to the strategy of the organisation. What are the limitations of the theories you have applied to this part of the question
Evaluate the strategic leadership during the change
Any coursework that is not appropriately referenced in Harvard Style in the text where required and with a single and matching alphabetical list of Harvard Style references under the heading of references at the end of your coursework will be deemed to have a major error.
Deadline Date for Submission of Coursework
The deadline for individual coursework submission is 3pm on Thursday 9th May, 2024.
UG Coursework Submission Requirements:
A maximum 3,000 words word count must be adhered to. The penalty for exceeding this limit is a five mark deduction.
The actual word count of the assignment must be stated by the student on the first page (cover sheet) of the assignment.
The overall word count does include citations and quotations.
The overall word count does not include the references or bibliography at the end of the coursework.
The word count does not include figures and tables.
Appendices are not included in the overall word count.
Students should prepare and submit their coursework assessments in the following format:
Font: Verdana 11 point
Spacing: 1.5 spaced
Margins: Normal (2.5 cm)
Referencing: Harvard citation style
