Summer (period 3)reassessment: coursework element
Write an analysis, 1500-2000 words long, of ONE of the following
sequences, paying attention, as and where appropriate, to cinematic
and stylistic elements such as editing, framing, camera angles,
lighting, colour, camera movements, dialogue and use of sound and/or
music. Note: timings may vary slightly between different recordings, so
those given below are approximate, the descriptions in each case
precisely identify the sequence for analysis.
1. Divines: from the moment Rebecca enters the frame (approx.
0:39.56) to the end of the sequence in the imaginary car (approx.
0:42.50).
2. La Graine et le Mulet/Couscous: from the start of the short
sequence with Rym and Slimane on the prow of the barge (approx.
1:18:52)to the end of the sequence showing the women preparing
food (approx 1:23:22).
Answers may be written in French or English.
