May Examination Period 2024
POL180 Global Sociology
Exam opens: 10am, 8 May 2024
Exam closes: 10am, 9 May 2024
Answer TWO questions.
Each question carries equal marks. If you answer more
questions than specified, only the first answers (up to the
specified number) will be marked.
Your answer must be in essay format. The word limit is 2000
words (excluding the bibliography) split equally across the two
answers.
Save your answer in a Word or PDF file, and upload the file on QM+ prior to the deadline above via
the designated assessment link.
Answers must show a sound grasp of concepts and relevant literature from the module reading list.
The use of additional literature and empirical examples where relevant is encouraged, as this is
likely to increase the quality of the answer. With regard to references and bibliography, please follow
the usual coursework formatting and reference guide.
QMUL’s regulations on academic misconduct apply to this assessment. Those regulations forbid,
amongst other things, plagiarism, repeating work you have previously submitted, and collaboration
in the production of assessed work. As with all assignments submitted via QM+, this assessment
will be processed through plagiarism-detection software. Students who are found to have committed
academic misconduct are likely to fail the module and have a second attempt capped at 40 OR if
they are already on their second, capped attempt, have no further attempts. In some cases, the
penalties may be more severe.
You have a 24-hour window in which to complete the exam.
