Task Description: Online Quiz
This task focuses on the content and school-related application of two key pieces of Australian
legislation – The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Disability Standards for Education
2005 (DSE). It is essential that pre-service teachers have sound knowledge of these laws and how
they direct teachers to act in relation to teaching, learning and participation in all aspects of school
life for students with a disability.
The quiz items will test your knowledge and understanding of the legislations and implications for
teacher practice in the classroom and other locations within the school. Module 2 of the Unit
Content contains relevant information and resources to support you in preparing to take the Quiz.
The online quiz consists of 10 items, all of which require ‘closed’ responses. That is, quiz will require
you to select or supply the correct answer. The items may be multiple choice, true/false, or cloze (fill
in the blanks but ensure spelling in correct). Each item in the quiz will be of equal value (i.e. you will
score 1 point for each correct answer).
The quiz will be available for students to take a single attempt only.
The attempt must be completed in one 30-minute session.
Access to the quiz will be time restricted – the link to the quiz will be available from 9am Friday 10th
March until 11pm Friday 21st March (AEDT).
From 9am 10th July, the link to access the Quiz will be located on the unit learning site, from the
‘Assessment Tasks & Submission link’. The link will be clearly labelled as ‘Assessment 1 Quiz’.
Please note that once you submit a response, you will NOT be able to back track. So, think about
your answer carefully before moving on to the next question.
Note:
1. You must take a genuine attempt at this task – to pass the unit, all three assessment tasks
must be completed.
2. If required, an alternate time to take this quiz will be organised for those students who have
been approved for Special Consideration due date extension. This will be a once-only, timerestricted (12-hour) opportunity to access the quiz, at a time nominated by the Unit
Assessor. If students are approved for Special Consideration for this assessment task, it is
your responsibility to contact the unit assessor to ensure you know what time/date the quiz
will be available to you.
