For this assignment, you are required to:
i.Complete the three mathematical tasks given below and attach your working out as an appendix to the essay. This is not included in the word count. You may hand write sections that contain mathematical notation but please word-process other sections. There are no marks given for the mathematics solutions.

ii.Write a 2000-word reflective essay in which you critically analyse and discuss the three questions with regards to mathematical understanding, mathematical problem solving, tool use and assessment.
Your discussion should:
Reflect on and draw examples from the three tasks to illustrate your arguments.
Reflect an awareness and understanding of the module objectives listed above.
Reflect a critical awareness of the relevant literature and research on the topic. Does not simply describe the research evidence from literature, but make a critical analysis of the evidence, reflect and comment on it.
Support your analysis with references and the critical application of ideas drawn from relevant literature and research.
Refer to the relevant aspects of teaching and learning mathematics referred to in the lectures. You may also include other aspects of teaching and learning mathematics that you have read about independently.
