Videoed Group Presentation (25%)
Topic: Examining ways to improve work motivation through job design.
Deadline: 16th December 2022, by midday (12pm GMT)
Format: Submission of a self-recorded, 10-minute, videoed group presentation. Groups can use the ‘record slideshow’ function in PowerPoint (see slideshow tab) or equivalent. One member from each group should upload the video to stream.liv.ac.uk. Further guidance on submission will be provided during the module.
Task: Students will be allocated into small groups of 5 or 6 members at the beginning of the module. Each group needs to identify a specific job role in the context of a real organisation; preferably one which one or more group members have some knowledge of. Your task is to consider the different ways in which the work motivation of job holders in this role could be improved, and what the consequences of such changes could be. Your analysis must be theoretically driven using a range of theories to guide your analysis.
Presentations should include the following:
?A brief description of the job role and the organisational context in which it is embedded.
?Critical analysis and evaluation of the different ways to increase work motivation, according to relevant theory.
?Choice of the preferred changes to the job role, based on anticipated outcomes for the individual and organisation, practical feasibility, and relevant research evidence.
?A brief implementation plan for your suggested changes to the job role.
?A complete reference list (Harvard or APA style).
Presentations should last no more than 10 minutes and all students are encouraged to actively participate in the delivery of the audio commentary.

Important note: The Group Presentation requires the proactive involvement of all group members. All students need to act professionally to develop and complete the task. The assessment grade for the group presentation is the grade that each student will receive individually i.e. the group mark is the same for each individual group member. If, however, for whatever reason a student is not cooperating sufficiently in developing the group presentation, following documented evidence by other group members, then the Module Leader will review the particular situation. If necessary, appropriate action will be taken by the Module Leader, in accordance with ULMS Guidelines, to resolve the situation.
